Breathwork & Black Women Narratives
Breathwork & Black Women Narratives is a 7-week healing program created by Black Women Rest to support Black women in navigating chronic stress, reclaiming rest, and deepening self-awareness through community-centered care. Grounded in Black Girls Breathing: Heal from Trauma, Combat Chronic Stress, and Find Your Freedom by Jasmine Marie, the program weaves together breathwork, therapeutic conversation, journaling, and reflection to help participants explore themes of healing, ancestry, liberation, and self-definition in a safe and intentional space.
Each week, participants are guided by a different therapist, wellness practitioner, or subject-matter expert who offers clinical insight, lived experience, and compassionate support. The program is designed to bridge holistic wellness and mental health, making healing practices accessible, culturally responsive, and rooted in the real experiences of Black women.
Your contribution supports your participation in this 7-week intimate virtual experience and includes:
7 live virtual sessions centered on breathwork, reflection, therapeutic conversation, and collective learning.
A digital workbook with guided exercises, reflection prompts, and resources to support your personal practice throughout the series.
Tools and resources you can continue using beyond the 7-week experience.
Access to a private WhatsApp group for connection, reminders, continued reflection, and community throughout the series.
A small, intimate setting designed to create space for meaningful conversation, participation, and connection among Black women.
Participants must purchase their own copy of the book (Book Scholarship May Be Available)
We ask that you do your best to commit to all 7 sessions. We understand that life happens and that things can come up. If you need to miss a session, we simply ask that you communicate with us when possible.
To protect the privacy and intimacy of the space, sessions will not be recorded. Written recaps and key reflections will be shared after each session so you can stay connected to the conversation if you are unable to attend.
